Converting Prius to Plug-in Hybrid By yourself

We can provide batteries, BMS, charger, box, Hybrid controller, but that is it. You have to make all necessary cables, connections.
You have to connect the BMS to the batteries, to make the battery pack and all connections to the relays, charger, etc. Technical support by the phone won't be provided - email only.

Technical information will be provided as PDFs and photos. You have to have more than advanced knowledge of electronics, electrics, high-voltage safety.

Here is the list of the main parts you need for the conversion*:

  • BMS/Battery ECU for 60 cells (up to 15kW/h) - set with all cables to the battery cells, Current sensor, temperature sensors - $1550
    or BMS set for 72 cells - $1590.
  • Battery charger - Elcon - 2.5Kw/h - programmed to 28-36 battery modules (56-64 cells) LiMn2O4 - $736
    or Battery charger - Elcon - 1.5Kw/h - programmed to 28-36 battery modules (56-64 cells) LiMn2O4 - $588
  • Battery / BMS aluminum box to fit 28 modules (56 cells) $830 - you need to make additional hones for the cables and cooling (if you want to use cooling)
  • Battery modules
    - set of 28 - rated 14kW/h usable 11-12kw/h - $3360 with connecting bars, threaded rods, brackets - configuration 28 in s row.
    - set of 32 - rated 16kW/h usable 14kw/h - $3840 with connecting bars, threaded rods, brackets. - configuration 24+8.
  • Hybrid Manager - allows driving in full EV mode up to 72mph or using PHEV mode - $550
  • Bluetooth adapter - $15
  • Relays - set of 3 relays + test resistor - $85
  • 12V power adapter 110-240V to 12V 20A - need when you want to use the OEM cooling fan during charging - $95
